Privacy Policy

RADAR, operated by The Stock Syndicate ("we," "us," or "our"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use RADAR (available at radarhq.xyz and as an iOS app), how we use it, and your choices and rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

Account & Profile Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Authentication data — email address, name, and profile image via Clerk (our authentication provider)
• Profile information — username/handle, display name, and bio (provided by you)
• Avatar — profile picture you upload, stored in our secure file storage

Portfolio Data

• Holdings — stock symbols, share quantities, and average cost basis you manually enter
• We do not connect to brokerage accounts or access real trading account data
• Portfolio data is self-reported and stored securely; it is private by default

Social Activity

• Posts, comments, and reactions you create
• Follow relationships (who you follow and who follows you)
• Content interactions (likes, reposts)

Referral Program Data

• Your referral code — a unique code assigned when you access the Invite Friends feature
• Redemption records — which users redeemed your code (handles only, no financial data)
• Your own redemption — which referral code you used when you joined (if any)

Subscription & Purchase Data

• Subscription status (free or premium tier) and renewal dates
• Apple transaction identifiers for in-app purchases (processed entirely by Apple; we never see your payment card details)
• Purchase history used to restore subscriptions and verify entitlements

Usage & Device Data

• Analytics — page views, feature usage, and performance metrics via Vercel Analytics (privacy-friendly, no personal identifiers)
• Device information — device type, operating system version, and app version for diagnostics
• App activity — searches, symbol views, and navigation (used to personalize the experience and detect abuse)
• We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide the Service — display your portfolio, profile, and social content to authorized viewers
• Personalization — tailor your feed, trending stocks, and recommendations
• Referral rewards — track qualifying referrals and apply bonus portfolio slots
• Subscription management — verify and restore your Apple subscription entitlements
• Improve the product — analyze aggregate usage to improve features and performance
• Security — detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access
• Communication — deliver in-app notifications (likes, follows, price alerts, system messages)

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data as part of providing RADAR:

• Clerk — authentication and identity management (Privacy Policy)
• Supabase — encrypted database and file storage (Privacy Policy)
• Vercel — web hosting and privacy-friendly analytics (Privacy Policy)
• Apple — in-app purchase processing and subscription management for iOS users (Privacy Policy)
• Alpaca / Finnhub / Alpha Vantage — market data providers (your personal information is not shared with these services; data flows through our secured backend only)

4. Data Sharing

We may share data only in these limited circumstances:

• Public profile data — your handle, display name, bio, and avatar are visible to other users according to your privacy settings
• Public portfolio/posts — only if you explicitly set visibility to "public" in Settings → Privacy
• Service providers — third-party services listed in Section 3 that help us operate RADAR
• Legal requirements — if required by valid law, court order, or government request, after reasonable legal review
• Business transfers — in the event of a merger or acquisition, user data may transfer to the new entity under the same privacy commitments

5. Your Privacy Controls

RADAR gives you granular control over your visibility:

• Portfolio visibility — Private (default), Followers only, or Public (Settings → Privacy)
• Watchlist visibility — Private (default), Followers only, or Public
• Leaderboard — Opt-in only; hidden by default (Settings → Privacy → Leaderboard)
• Push notifications — Enable/disable in Settings → Notifications

6. Cookies and Tracking

• Authentication cookies — required for secure login sessions (managed by Clerk)
• Preferences — stored in localStorage (theme, onboarding state)
• Analytics — Vercel Web Analytics (no personal identifiers, no cross-site tracking)

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or any tracking that follows you across other websites.

7. Data Retention

• Account data — retained while your account is active
• Posts and comments — retained until you delete them or your account
• Deleted account data — permanently removed from our databases within 30 days of account deletion
• Analytics data — aggregated and anonymized after 90 days
• Purchase records — retained for up to 7 years for legal and tax compliance

8. Account Deletion

You may delete your RADAR account at any time by going to Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Accountin the RADAR app. Upon deletion, all personal data (portfolio, posts, comments, follows, and profile) is permanently removed. This action is irreversible.

Note: Deleting your RADAR account does not automatically cancel your App Store subscription. To cancel, go to iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → RADAR.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of your personal data we hold
• Correction — update inaccurate information via Settings → Edit Profile
• Deletion — delete your account and all associated data (Settings → Danger Zone)
• Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format by contacting us
• Objection — opt out of analytics by adjusting your browser settings or contacting us

10. Security

• All data encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest
• Service-role database access — no direct client access to sensitive data
• Role-based access controls and audit logging
• Authentication managed by Clerk (industry-standard security practices)
• Regular security reviews of our infrastructure

11. Children's Privacy

RADAR is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will promptly delete that account and data. Contact us if you believe a minor has created an account.

12. California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants you additional rights: the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of sale (we do not sell data). 13. European Residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and object. Our legal basis for processing your data is your consent (where given) and our legitimate interest in providing the Service. To exercise any GDPR right, contact us at support@radarhq.xyz.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice within the app and updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
